Yesterday, Farhan Akhtar released the first look of Don 3, with the caption, ‘New Era Begins’, and also shared an official statement, that said, SRK will be not seen as Don anymore.
And, the teaser of Don 3 was released today, where we can see Ranveer Singh as Don, after Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.

However, the film will be released in 2025 and we can assume that the film’s screenplay writing work is almost at the end, as the makers released the first look yesterday and the teaser today. Disappointingly, various news sources were right as Shah Rukh Khan will not be joining the cast of ‘Don 3’.
When will the movie go to the floor?
Ranveer Singh is currently busy shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed upcoming film Baiju-Bawra. After completing the shooting of Baiju Bawra, Ranveer will start work on Don 3, which may be released in 2025.
Why was Ranveer Singh selected as the main character?
After Shah Rukh’s exit, the makers of ‘Don 3’ were looking for a suitable actor, who could take the franchise forward. However, the makers have not yet confirmed whether Ranveer Singh has been cast in that role. On the other hand, Ranveer Singh has a good relationship with Excel Entertainment and has been seen in several of their box office hits including Excel Entertainment’s romantic film Dil Dhadakne Do in 2015 and Excel Entertainment’s musical romance film Gully Boy in 2019. Ranveer Singh even starred along with Farhan Akhtar in Dil Dhadakne Do. So it is believed that Farhan Akhtar has a very good idea about Ranveer’s acting skills and as a result the director and writer of the film have come to this decision. Various other entertainment media reported that a promo video of ‘Don 3’ is being made, where it will be revealed that in Don 3, Ranveer Singh will be seen as Don instead of Shah Rukh Khan. The entertainment channel also reported that Shah Rukh Khan has also been informed about the news.
Don: The Chase Begins
The first film in the franchise, “Don: The Chase Begins Again”, was released on 20 October 2006. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani, and Om Puri. The film is an adaptation of the 1978 film of the same name, which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman, and Pran in the lead roles. After the success of Don (2006), the makers planned to make a sequel to the film.
Don: The King is Back (Don: 2)
Don: The King is Back (Don: 2) was released on 23 December 2011, in 2D and 3D formats. The film was also released in Tamil and Telugu. The film stars Shah Rukh alongside Priyanka Chopra, Om Puri, and Boman Irani in lead roles. However, the role also stars Kunal Kapoor, Lara Dutta, and Hrithik Roshan as guest stars. Along with the film’s story and acting, the film’s music added a different dimension to the film.
Talking about Shah Rukh’s work, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in the action thriller ‘Jawaan’, which is directed by Atlee Kumar. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and Sania Malhotra. ‘Jawaan’ is going to be released on 7 September 2023.
