We all love fantasy, so we love to watch Spiderman, Batman, and Superman. But, with age, this love takes its form, as DC and Marvel. And, Iron Man came and took away the love of the fans for Marvel.

However, today marks 15th anniversary of Iron Man, the first film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And, on a day like this, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, and Iron Man director Jon Favreau feel that casting Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man is a historic decision and one of Hollywood’s best.

Details about film Iron Man:

On 25th May, 2008, after the release of Iron Man, the first film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it suddenly came to the top of the list of people’s preferences. And then comes that face, Robert Downey Jr. who played the role of Tony Stark aka Iron Man. His speaking style, style, looks, and his everything is eye-catching. The film, released in 2008, starred by director Jon Favreau himself and Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges, Terrence Howard, and others along with Robert Downey Jr.

The film had a budget of 140 million and the film grossed around $585.8 million at the box office.

On the 15th anniversary, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, and Iron Man director Jon Favreau gave an interview. Kevin Feige said in an interview, “I think that’s probably one of the greatest decisions in the history of Hollywood,” “I remember on later movies…I would say, Robert, we wouldn’t be in this mess if it wasn’t for you. Meaning we wouldn’t have a studio if it wasn’t for you.”

Then Jon said “I remember sitting down with [Robert] and I was like, he just got it and he’s got that spark in him and his eye and he’s ready. Once it was him, that’s when my life got a lot easier.” Praising Robert, Jon said, “he had a very [high] standard that he wanted to hit with, not wanting this to feel basic. He wanted it to be special.”

Some unknown facts about Iron Man:

1. The Tony Stark character is based on a real person, Howard Hugh, a famous billionaire, and aviator, in the first half of the 20th century. Like Tony, Hugh was multi-talented and spent a lot of money on his extravagant lifestyle, which included inventing, directing films, engineering and flying airplanes, and being a bit of a ladies person.

2. Robert Downey Jr. played 10 roles as Tony Stark so far. And he is the only Marvel character to have the most screen time to date, followed by Captain America and Thor.

3. Iron Man is Marvel’s most popular character.

4. Those of us who are Marvel fans, know that Marvel has several alternate universes. And in one of those universes i.e. Earth-616, Tony is an adopted son. while Howard Stark’s own son Arno, got sick and has to stay in the hospital. Later, Howard Stark adopte Tony Stark in his son’s place. But, in the MCU, Tony is not adopted.

5. Tony Stark is the richest superhero in the MCU. His net worth is 12.4 billion. And, it is believed, he would never have become Ironman if he had not been rich.

6. Jarvis, Tony’s robot assistant in Iron Man, is actually a person in Marvel comics, whose name is Edwin Jarvis, who worked for Howard Stark. After the death of Edwin Jarvis, Stark named his AI assistant technology after him. And, if you don’t know the full meaning of Jarvis, it’s ‘Just a Rather Very Intelligent System’.

7. In addition to Robert Downey Jr., other actors who auditioned for the role of Iron Man included Tom Cruise, Nicolas Cage, and Rob Lewis.

8. Tony Stark had a total of 53 Iron Man suits.

9. In the Alter Universe i.e. Earth 3490, Iron Man was a woman. That is Ironwoman aka Natasha Stark. In that world, Natasha falls in love with Steve Rogers aka Captain America and they get married. Although Pepper Potts i.e. Tony’s wife has been seen as Ironwoman in the MCU.

10. Did you know that Iron Man’s suit can lift more than 100 tons?

The second and third versions of the film, iron man 2 and Iron Man 3 were released in 2010 and 2013. Also, Robert has appeared as Iron Man in The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: End Game, Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming and two more films.
